Abstract: During the last past years the development of IP video services have launched new provocation for television service providers. Telecommunications companies and Internet Service Providers began to implement new IP video infrastructures with the main purpose of deploying a television service with the benefits resulting from IP communications environment. Features, such as, high quality video content and new types of sub-services, combined together with already existing services, like, IP telephony, video conferencing, web, email, etc., result in a multi layered integrated platform. The purpose of this paper is to present technologies and concepts beyond IPTV service and to introduce a generalized framework for an IPTV platform.
